I really enjoy taking photographs. I'm not very interested in nature though. Maybe being surrounded by natural beauty lessens my appreciation of it. I like looking at the details and rthyms in the urban enviornment. I get a kick out of playing with things that are mass produced. I think the objects a society mass produces say more about the society than its art. |
While living in Portugal I became interested in azulejos (tiles) and tried to document them. I was facinated by the way time had decayed the perfect rthymic repetition of the mass produced and generated something organic. The Portuguese have continued the use of times to the present day with contempory twists on an old theme. |

They don't come more mass produced than cheerios. I was very surprised at how well the everyday things from my kitchen could look. This is one of a series of photographs of objects from my kitchen. I took them using natural light at home. |
I used to do a lot of work in Black & White, but then I discovered color. I go back to the darkroom every now and again. This is one of a series of photographs I took of the street. I really enjoyed the graphic quality of the roads markings and manhole covers. |

Here are some holiday snaps. I have snaps from trips to Lisbon, Paris, France29, & Italy. I don't try to take postcards though. I photograph what I find - and just buy the postcards! |
